Acme Comic Con – Glasgow

R2D2 had his first ‘big weekend’ type event at Acme Comic Con in Glasgow, at Scotlands largest convention centre – The SEC. This the first Acme Comic Con, and the first of 2 for 2022 and a sell out on both days.

He was very well received by both children and Adults alike, and at one point couldn’t actually move to allow folk to take photos. Running on alternating Lipos, he managed to run for the majority of the day. In some cases over 3 hours nonstop, which is quite an achievement considering the size of the venue – whilst also supporting and complimenting the Imperial Scottish Garrison and the Rebel Legion in helping to raise money for local charity Chas (Childrens Hospices Across Scotland).

This was Acmes first event, so was in a slightly smaller portion of the SECC. But given the popularity of the event, I can very much see them moving into a larger section. We will be back later in the year, hopefully with a bigger presence and more droids!
