Like any December in the UK we had cold, rain, snow and sleet; however it was a great event and a good finale to the year for the majority of builders attending.

The NEC Voyage system for dropping off droids means it’s a lot simpler and quicker now than the troubles we had in the past and the only issues are knowing how to get to N12 and then where the halls are within the NEC.

We had a great position near the exit for easy setup/teardown and close to other fan groups such as the Rebel Legion , UK Garrison, Daleks, Ghostbusters and Silver Sabres. The Steampunk group was the other side of the hall, but was good to get my exercise in to look around. There was a lot to see and do at MCM and i’m sure is bigger than last year; however the focus around guests appears to have shifted from more mainstream actors/actresses to vocal talent from computer games and anime.
The Friday was a nice warm up to the weekend, however from 3:30pm it started to get very quiet, Saturday was busy as always and Sunday was steady despite the snow overnight.

There are too many highlights of the weekend to list, was good to see Sarah in full TC-14 mode along with a large variety of droids on the stand.

Was great to catch up with builders along with the UKG and RL and discuss all things droids. As combined Star Wars Fan groups we raised £157.42 for Make-A-Wish so a great effort over the 3 days.

And lastly Santa asks if Chopper has been a good or a bad droid in the past year.
