Sheffield Creed Comic Con

This is our second time of attending the Creed Sheffield Comic Con, A small but nice con hosted at Ponds Forge Sports Centre in the heart of Sheffield. We knew what to expect for setting up and the flow of the day.

The Setup

There had been a break down of communications and we were not on the list when I arrived, but a quick presentation of emails between Creed and I, we were soon allocated our space. We had enough space to display all of our droids and have space for photo opportunities and also drive our droids around.  

We were able to park in the ponds forge carpark underneath the main hall and this time we were allowed to park vans on the access road (pay and display still), this makes it easier for packing away as we could use the lift and/or stairs without getting caught in the traffic in the loading area.

The Day

It was a great day and busy throughout with many happy faces, we were situated at the front of the event, so we one of the first stands people were greeted with. There were plenty of hugs from the children (Droids not us), all families treated the droids with respect. Many of them shared there delight at seeing them and shared their experience of star wars with us.
Lots of advice was given on how to get started, we saw a lot of people scanning in the QR Code on the DBUK banners.

A number of visitors remembered us from last time and from the Scarborough con! They were pleased to see us and have even made request for droids they would like to see next time. One visitor was very impressed with Alex’s Ducking and has insisted he update her on his chosen career path at the next event!

Unfortunately Jims R2 suffered a Bad Motivator and the smoke escaped and the walk of shamed followed. Patches need to be issued.
IG12s animatronics also refused to work on the day, but Huyang interacted with the guests throughout the day as did RZero.
