2025-2026 Chosen Charity – Alzheimer’s Society
Like every Star Wars fan group, charity work is one of the reasons we build and take our droids to events.
Over the years we have collected for a number of different charities that have had personal connections to various builders/familes, our past charities have been:
- MNDA (Motor Neurone Disease Association)
- Calm (Campaign Against Living Miserably)
- Meningitis Now
- NAS (National Autistic Society)
- Make-A-Wish
Prior to COVID members of the UK R2 Builders Club donated parts for the UK to build their own R2-KT, KT17. For more details on R2-KT visit here.
For 2025-2026 our chosen charity is Alzheimers Society.
Alzheimer’s Society provides vital support to help people navigate the daily challenges of life with dementia. Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer and every 3 minutes someone in the UK develops dementia.
1 in 3 people born in the UK today will go on to develop dementia in their lifetime.

As of Dec 2025 the club has raised £13,000 and upped our goal to £20k for the end of 2026.
