Pinewood 2026

For the past several years Pinewood Studios has run a 2 day jobs fair, and like previous years the Droid Builders were in attendance.
It’s unlike any other events we do, on the Friday there are bus loads of schoolchildren who attend in the hope that some will be interested in going into the film industry. For others i’m sure it’s just a jolly and a day off school.
On the Saturday it’s more university students as well as families of staff at Pinewood, from working in the film industry it’s hard to tell families what you do due to NDAs; whilst all the cool stuff is hidden out of view it’s good to show families what you can and see the displays put on by the various Pinewood teams.

Along with the DroidBuilders the UKG, Rebel Legion, Mandos, Silver Sabres, Real Icons, Ghostbusters, and movie cars were present. Pinewood itself put on an excellent greens display (grenery such as plants) as well as a demo of the LED screen as a backdrop seen in The Mandalorian, some of the group also attended a stunt show at the end of the day which was good.

Like any event there are downsides, it was hard getting to Pinewood stupidly early on Friday morning for setup and still being awake for the whole day. Pinewood did server food and drink afer the event, but the majority went back to the hotel for a proper meal. On the Sunday was a bit more relaxed and a later start.
