In the past I’ve done quite a few model shows, from military, to RC to mixed. This was the first time i’d been to a dedicated sci-fi modelling show and wasn’t let down at all; in fact the normally very exciting droids were well down the excitement list compared to some of the other stuff on display.

The Chris Army (Osbourne and Williams) were in attendance with their respective partners.

For the organisers it was their first year too with Space Crafts, and hopefully they will have another event in 2027, and hopefully we will get asked back. With first events it’s always hard to judge what to bring, but now we have a better idea will be good for next year.

Was good to catch up with people I know, and a surprise to see several members of the UKG there too. Some of the models were amazing, and while I caught up with Guy Cowen and John Simmons, Lee Ralph was busy most of the time; anyone who has done any SW modelling will know their names for studio scale vehicles they build. The 5′ Millenium Falcon was very impressive, however it’s impossible to single out something when everything was great.
Along with Star Wars there was a good variety of series, from Red Dwarf, to Space 1999, to other Gerry Anderson shows. Then from Gundam to Star Trek to a small selection of figure kits.

One of the impressive displays was of a movable C3PO using Jesse M’s files and Bottango to get it moving. It had only just been made and the ramping of the servo’s hadn’t been done; can;t wait to see it fully finished.
